Take the time to be Active in the Winter

My dreams lately have been consisting of green grass, camping, boating, warmth, and SUN!

The winter blues are not to be talked about lightly. Am I right?

This time of year has me down and since we have been sick, and finally feeling better. I am ready to get back to my workouts so I can get me feeling back to normal.

There are HUGE benefits to getting in your exercise during the winter.

And feeling like yourself and motivated is one of them!

Exercising inside won't get you out into the Sun, but on cold days, that's quite all right with me.

Thankfully you can exercise indoors and still get those endorphins released to help you feeling happier and more with the program to take care of you and in turn take care of your littles.

Try some exercises from Pinterest, or try some on You Tube.

If you are looking for a 30-90 day program, with your own Personal Trainer cheering you on.

Contact me and I can help you decide just the right one for you!

Exercising in the Winter is so important for you to stay Sane.

You're hearing me- right Mom's!

{Guest Post- Shambray's Blog} POSITIVE CHANGE

I am excited to have a very inspirational post written by a great Mom I personally know. Shambray has been blogging for over a year now and she is such a great positive person. She is a busy working Mother of two cute baby girls. She blogs at Shambray . . .

http://www.shambray.com/

Here is her post about how to turn your chaos and thoughts into positive thoughts.

This week….well let’s just say it has been a rough one.  My house is a complete disaster, my newborn has been extra fussy, we have Halloween festivities that I might have over-scheduled, I haven’t had a date night with my husband in far too long, work is absolutely crazy, and I am doing all this on little sleep.  AHHHHH!  So I thought to myself, “What can I do to make this week a positive week and not leave me feeling drained and a failure?”

I tend to constantly see myself as failing.  I tend to get angry at myself over little things.  Then I take my frustration out on my sweet family.  They don’t deserve that.  So I needed to come up with a solution and I needed to do it fast.

Luckily, I have goals this month that can help me do just that.  I have been slacking on my goals this month and I wanted to fix that.  Some of my goals were inspired by a blog post that a contributor of my blog posted at the end of September.  I loved the post so much and wanted to put it into action.  So I incorporated some of the habits from that post into my October goals.

Today I will mention two of the five habits that we all should strive to have in our lives.  The first one I need to mention here because it is so important to Melissa and to this blog.  That is exercise.  Exercise can change our attitude completely.  It can help us have more energy and it can help us be more positive.  That is probably because we actually FEEL better.

The other habit I wanted to mention is meditation.  On my blog it goes into specifics, but it states that this doesn’t have to be difficult.  Meditation is merely focusing on your breathing.  You do not need to make it more complicated than that.  Honestly, that is complicated enough for me.  My mind tends to wander.  I set a goal to get to 1 minute of meditation a day.  Well I do not think I am going to get to that point.  I am still trying to meditate for 15 seconds without my mind worrying about something or thinking of something else.  Go ahead laugh if you want.  I am trying though and the days I can mediate are better days.

I want to go back to my question that I asked myself earlier, “What can I do to make this week a positive week and not leave me feeling drained and a failure?”  I am so glad that I recognized my attitude at the beginning of this week and challenged myself to fix the problem before it got out of hand.  I am now seeing positive changes in my week and the week isn’t even over yet.  I hope it continues to get better and better!

Thanks for your thoughts Shambray about making a positive change. It all comes with the choices we make and the positive thoughts we will have in each moment and turning them into positive actions.  As busy Moms we can make choices each day to better ourselves and each responsibility we have. Because we have a lot of them!

Be Grateful for your Body

Our bodies can do amazing things.
I am grateful for a body that can move, exercise, take care of my kids, play, clean, cook . . .

Here is a talk by Susan Tanner that I want to share with you to inspire you to realize that your body is a great gift from God.

https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2005/10/the-sanctity-of-the-body?lang=eng

"Happiness comes from accepting the bodies we have been given as divine gifts and enhancing our natural attributes, not from remaking our bodies after the image of the world. The Lord wants us to be made over—but in His image, not in the image of the world, by receiving His image in our countenances (see Alma 5:14, 19)."
Be grateful and show God and those around you that your body as well as your mind is a great gift and you will treat it as so.

Why I decided to be a Health & Fitness Coach with Beachbody

My Story!

I gained the infamous Freshman 15 after high school, tried to lose it before I got married and that didn’t happen, and since then was never able to lose the weight. I was always hitting a plateau.  I am a mother of 3 kids, my last child was 10 lbs! I hit 170 lbs! I don't know if I am done having children yet- maybe 1 more, but I was sick of always being at a certain weight- I would lose the weight from my babies slowly after having them, but I would eventually hit a plateau! And wasn’t able to reach my goal weight so many times I tried. I would give in to my excuses of being too busy with kids and would put half of myself into going to the gym, working out and sometimes would push myself, but then fall back into my excuses. And then it would be weeks before I would go to the gym again. Vicious cycle. I was sick of hitting a plateau after a year of having my child and not getting any results.

But then I realized if I wanted to feel and look different, I had to do something different! So I knew my body would need a change and I needed to UP MY GAME! I wanted to lose more, but it wasn’t happening- I realized if I wanted different results, I needed to change something different.

I have always loved being healthy and exercising, but as a MOM- sometimes wouldn't take care of myself first. I decided to become a coach through an old friend- we reconnected and I saw all her posts and decided to ask her about it! I pretty much knew before we talked- I was in!

I had tried P90X before with my husband, was a group fitness instructor teaching TURBO KICK before kids and I was ready to make a change! I signed up almost 3 months ago and am LOVING IT! I love helping women to be healthy and to put themselves first! I started wanting to work on myself and my results first, but decided to jump in and help others as well! It has been a great way to keep myself accountable and motivated! And I have made so many new friends and reconnected with old ones along the way!

I am HAPPY to say, since starting into Coaching, and a HUGE believer in Shakeology helping my progress- I have gotten past my plateau and am at a weight I haven’t been in since high school! Most importantly I feel great and I feel like I can do just about anything I set my mind to! I love helping others to get past the mental block of “I can’t do it” And helping them reach their goals as well!

Here is my before picture when I started my Beachbody Journey in November 2014. I was ready to make a change and loose the rest of my weight and get over a plateau I have been desperately wanting to get past for a LONG time!

After picture- 10 lbs lost using Turbo Fire workouts and drinking Shakeology each morning for a meal replacement. But most importantly for me is the energy I have gained and confidence!

Stay tuned for my after picture when I am finished with my 21 day FIX journey to lose the rest of my weight and my focus of getting more in shape and toned!

I love helping others to be healthy & fit! I also love  providing support and motivation to other by giving tips, healthy meal plans, but just as important, a program that will help them to get results and get the accountability they need to succeed in their health & fitness goals.
