Weekly update {September 21, 2016}

I am going to be sharing little tidbits of my journey on my blog. It helps to keep me accountable and I like to write things down and read back through to see my progress or something I need to work on.  My plan is to share with you once a week my goals and how I did with my progress from the last week I shared.

Since I began my health & fitness journey of getting healthier and losing weight back in November 2014. I needed something. I was stuck at a plateau that I had been stuck at since I had my first child back in 2007. In 3 months (and over the holidays) I had crushed through my plateau and in February 2015 I had lost 10 stubborn pounds by working out 5 times a week for 30-40 mins, drinking shakeology and eating healthy meals. I had started Coaching and using Beachbody workout program Turbo Fire and 21 day fix.  It was an amazing thing to work on myself and feel great again.

I am almost to those holidays again- and I have put the weight back on. For various reasons I have lost motivation. One big one is the monthly disappointment of not getting pregnant. I finally had my doctor appointment and got on my prenatal vitamins and have left it all up to the Lord and his timing of when it is right to bring our last and final child into our family. I know it will happen when it is supposed to. So now I am stressing less and ready to get back to being more consistent. I have been working out and drinking my shakeology so I am glad that hasn't stopped. I still feel healthy except for the lack of motivation to say no to treats when truly I don't even want them. I have just been in a mental fog and didn't care. My meals/snacks have been mostly healthy choices. But my goals for getting the weight off again are to push myself in my workouts more. Workout 5 times a week, not just 3. And to stay in control. I am capable of doing this. I have the support and accountability of my team and my coach. And I am inviting others in the process to share this journey together! We can do this! I am going to be involved in our next Contest- Beat the Treats Biggest Slim Down Contest starting on October 3rd. Who would like to join in with me to be accountable to our exercise and healthy eating?

Thanks for checking in and being on this journey with me!

Take the time to be Active in the Winter

My dreams lately have been consisting of green grass, camping, boating, warmth, and SUN!

The winter blues are not to be talked about lightly. Am I right?

This time of year has me down and since we have been sick, and finally feeling better. I am ready to get back to my workouts so I can get me feeling back to normal.

There are HUGE benefits to getting in your exercise during the winter.

And feeling like yourself and motivated is one of them!

Exercising inside won't get you out into the Sun, but on cold days, that's quite all right with me.

Thankfully you can exercise indoors and still get those endorphins released to help you feeling happier and more with the program to take care of you and in turn take care of your littles.

Try some exercises from Pinterest, or try some on You Tube.

If you are looking for a 30-90 day program, with your own Personal Trainer cheering you on.

Contact me and I can help you decide just the right one for you!

Exercising in the Winter is so important for you to stay Sane.

You're hearing me- right Mom's!

My 1 year Anniversary!

1 year ago today I started my blog.

1 year ago today I started my fitness journey.

1 year ago today I started Coaching others with their health & fitness.

When I began my journey I wanted to work on myself, get healthier, exercise more, have more energy.

And along with that, encourage others to do the same.

I wanted to help my family. I wanted to be an example.

I also wanted to help to bring in extra income to help out with sudden expenses, pay down debt, be more financially secure. And also take my family on vacations.

Well I am so happy to say that I have done all of these things.

Through hard work and dedication I have been able to have more energy to do it all.
To take care of my family as a Stay at Home/Working Mom.  With the support of my family.  And all the while doing this only a couple hours in the morning, and while my little guy napped and girls off to school!

I started out drinking Shakeology and exercising to Turbo Fire, and then 21 day fix program.

More about my transformation here

http://onthegohealthymoms.blogspot.com/search/label/success%20story

I have also been able to earn some money each month to pay for my Shakeology, plus more.

When I started my goal was to pay for it, and then it progressed.

My first paycheck was $60, it was getting my parents started on their journey.  They both have lost a combined total of 80 lbs. Amazing!

In my first month of Coaching I made $146.88, this helped me to pay for my Shakeology & workout program- my Turbo Fire Challenge pack which helped me to lose my stubborn 10 lbs.

By Month 6 I had made $2,850.26.

And now a year into this I have made $4,707.16 total to date.

My goal was to make $5,000 by the end of 2015, I am almost there!

I have been able to pay for our Disneyland Vacation back in February, Brady's Alaska trip in August, as well as pay for car expenses and help pay down debt. It has felt so great to be able to contribute and have some play money too. We have been able to not feel so strapped like before.

I can't believe I have been coaching for 1 year today!

What a fun, rewarding job I have. And to be part of a Team where I have learned so much! I have learned how to set goals, dream big, and help others to be healthy & fit.

I have never been so active in all my life thanks to Coaching and Beachbody programs. And the biggest thing I have noticed are my energy levels. I can get up early- which didn't happen before. And I don't have that afternoon slump where I just want to take a nap!

I run Challenge groups each month. They are fun, motivating and what my participants don't know is that they are inspiring to me when I see and read and hear what successes they have. It keeps me going!

I now not only help myself to stay active, eat healthier, drink more water.  But I have been able to help other Mom's/Dad's to get into shape from home and help those that want to work from home and do what I do, earning extra income, paying for their Shakeology and getting Fit both physically and financially.

I am thankful for this journey. I am thankful for this past year and what I have learned. I can't wait to help more Women/Men. It has been amazing! I am looking for those that want to earn extra income, want to be healthier. I am looking for those that are Ready and dedicated. And I will show you what I have learned! Come join me! It will change your life, just like it has changed mine!

70 superfoods in Shakeology & why I drink it everyday!

I have been drinking the meal replacement

Shakeology

for almost 1 full year.

And I can't even begin to tell you how this has been the

best I have ever felt!

I can't wait to be pregnant again with drinking this.
It will be SO NICE to have a pregnancy where I feel better than I ever did.
I crave sugar A LOT during all 3 of my pregnancies, so
I am excited to not crave it as much because I will have my Shakeology!

I want to share with you today about some of the ingredients in Shakeology and why I chose this over other meal replacements.

EVERY SINGLE Ingredient is good for you.
They are superfoods from all over the world that help aid in some many benefits for your Body!

  • I love know that I get in a serving of Veggies everyday from the scoop. It has Spinach, Kale, Moringa, Chlorella, and more. These phytonutrients help support health & vitality.
  • Protein- It has 16 grams in each scoop. Helps to build lean muscle and reduce cravings. Your choice of Whey or just Vegan. The ingredients are chia, flax, Quinoa, Pea. In Vegan you have oat and rice.
  • Fruit/Antioxidant- Camu-Camu, Goji Berry, Vitamins A,C,E- help fight free radical damage and support a healthy immune system.
  • Adaptogen Blend- Ginkgo, Maca & more, help your body to react and respond to the effects of stress.
  • Digestive Enzyme- Pre & Probiotic- Yacon Root, Amylase, Cellulase- Help nutrient absorption and support regularity and healthy digestion.
I drink it every morning, and occasionally for lunch if I felt like something else for breakfast. It is part of my everyday meal plan. It starts my day off right so I feel the benefits of this drink throughout the day!

My kids love the shake and I share with them! Especially my little guy- I love his shakeO mustache!

I drink Shakeology every day because it is yummy, it gives me the nutrients I need in a day, when it isn't always easy to get in good whole food. Especially on busy days and when something comes up or I am faced with not so healthy foods. It gives me energy to keep going through my day as a Busy Mom and not lack in the afternoon when I used to need a nap with my little guy. I get stuff done! It also helps keep me regular. Ha! That's all we will say about that! And it keeps me from craving lots of junk food/sugar. I have eaten less sugar this past year. It feels great!

I get my Shakeology paid for, learn how you can too! Or how you can get it at a discount!

Melissa

My 21 day fix Extreme Results

This workout program is not for the birds. It is tough! But I enjoyed pushing myself, and doing modifications when I needed to.  The 21 day Fix Extreme workout program is a way to push yourself a little harder in your workouts when you are already working out a couple of times a week and used to exercise.  It is also for those that want to tone and shape their body. Workouts are only 30 minutes too which is awesome!

So my goal was to workout 5 days a week, but I averaged 3-4 days a week and just finished my last day of the 21 day program yesterday!  It worked my upper body, lower body, worked my abs, got my heart rate up with cardio, and I did some pilates and yoga for recovery days. Cuz I sure needed them!

My eating healthy wasn't on point, but I did do my best to plan my meals and snacks.

I love this program and am happy with my results.

Here were my inches lost in just 21 days!

Arms: total of 1 1/2 inches
Stomach: almost 2 inches
Hips: 2 1/4 inches lost
Thighs: almost 2 inches total

I was most excited about my stomach area, I felt more toned in 21 days of working on my core.
My muscles leaned out and most important- I FEEL STRONGER! And I love the change in my arms too! My shirt I wore didn't feel so tight after the 21 days.

I will definetely be doing this program again soon because it really pushed me to work hard!

Join me in my accountability group to keep yourself motivated and healthy!  I know it sure helps me!

Melissa

It takes 21 days and I am on it!

Many of you that have been following my story of my Health & Fitness journey
know that I was able to crush through my plateau and loose 10 pounds within 2 1/2 months.

This was not easy as many of you know it is hard to get past a plateau.

But I was determined to make a change and get results.

More of my story here

Well now I want you to be part of my next journey of loosing my last couple of pounds, shaping and toning my body- but most importantly getting back to some healthy habits because quite frankly, I have been slipping this summer.

I am going to be using the workout 21 day Fix Extreme to help me with this,
along with drinking Shakeology every day which will help me to have the energy I need
as a busy Mom of 3.  It's my healthiest meal of the day and one meal I don't have to worry
about cooking. It fast and convenient to have in the morning and a great way to start my day.

So here is my pictures of me on Day 1 right before I started my workout.

Can't wait to share with you where I will be in 21 days of doing the workouts! I plan to work out 5 days a week. So I will be done with the workouts on Sept. 9 and I will show my progress photos on Monday September 14!

I mentor other women to get started on their fitness journey and earn money while doing it.

Coaching has been a great way for me to bring in extra income, not living paycheck to paycheck anymore and taking my family on vacations which is very important to me to spend time with them!

If you are interested in learning more about what I do contact me.

{Health & Fitness} Inspiration Board

I put together this Inspiration Board to give others out there an idea of someplace they can go to
to feel inspired and to be reminded of their dreams and their reasons WHY they chose to begin their Health & Fitness journey.

I am a very visual person, so sometimes I need to be reminded by something visual.
I picked up this cardboard at Walmart for $2,
For the title you can put anything, you can put one inspirational word, a phrase, Your name.

and started cutting through some old fitness magazine and other magazines I had laying around the house. I cut out anything that inspired me.  I also wrote down on a scratch piece of paper my vision of where I wanted to be in the future according to my goals and dreams.

You could have the focus of your Inspiration Board be on
  • Weigh loss journey- posting "before" picture and having a spot for your "after"
    •  Make sure to take a side and back shot- flex your arm muscle too!
Type up a quote, My Goals/Dreams, My Journey
    • make a spot where you can put in your Goal weight and each week/month your progress
    •  Add your cut out inspiration pictures that will inspire you! Lastly, make sure you write your Goals and steps on how you will reach them. Be specific.

Your board can even be for a Fitness competition- if you are going to compete. It can also be for Family dreams & where you want to see you & your family health wise & being active.

So to get started, start with a long-term goal and where you see yourself 1-5 or more years down the road. What does your life look like. What do you want to have accomplished.

Then break it down and ask yourself, what do I need to do to get there.

Look through magazines, print off pictures/words, start compiling lots of papers, quotes that inspire you, put pictures of the things the motivate you- like your family, hobbies you like to do, places you want to go, a past picture of you at a healthy weight, and then start creating your inspiration board.

Here is my finished product:

I would love to see yours!

Melissa

Plan Ahead your Workouts!

Having a plan for your workouts is so important.

Even down to the knitty gritty of what you are going to wear!

Here are a couple of tips for what to plan ahead so you set yourself up for SUCCESS

in your workouts!

  • Know what days you will workout.

  • Know how long you want to workout and what you will do to be active.

  • Know what you will wear- have your clothing/shoes ready!

I even have a bin full of my outfits set for the week or two with my workout shirts, pants/shorts.
  • Write it down and stick to it- don't let anything get in the way of your goals! Write down what days, times, what workout you are going to do that day and for how long.  Write down your goals and where you want to be! Write down where you want to be in 5 years, in 3, in 1, in 6 months, in a month- so you know your path and have that plan of where you want to be and what you need to do to get there!                                                                                                          Thanks for checking in,                                                       Melissa

Team YOU Priority

It's exciting to see my Team grow.

When I first signed up as a Coach, I knew I really wanted to work on myself.
I wanted to inspire my family and those around me.
I wanted to show others how important it is to
 be Healthy for YOU!

It is so motivating to be in Challenge groups and on a "TEAM" and to inspire and help each other along through our health & fitness journeys. Those that I coach and join these groups with don't realize it, but they inspire me to be better, to get in my exercise, to eat healthier, to eat less sweets- and to BE MORE ACCOUNTABLE.

I have decided on a name for my Team. It is Team YOU Priority. YOU stands for Yourself first, Others Always and Us Together.

If we are always taking the time for Others- Our family, our friends, etc. But making sure we take care of Yourself first, you will have the energy to take care of Others.

And being around those that are positive and working towards same goals as you- to be Healthier and Happier- that is what I want for those I coach, inspire and those that want to do this with me.

Some people ask me if they have to know all about Health, Nutrition, Fitness, etc.

The answer is NO- we all know how important it is to be Healthy- and to care about other people's health is all YOU NEED!

Melissa

Showing our Kids how to live LIFE to the Fullest!

Our kids need to see us being active, being healthy.

BUT, most importantly, not being down on ourselves when we aren't all the time.

They need to see struggles.
They need to see our strengths.
They need to see how we learn from life
and how to get past a struggle.
I am working on this myself.
Sometimes in life we want to give up.
Those are the bad days.
But the good days outweigh those bad days.
So set an example for your kids.
Be their HERO.
Show them how to rise from adversity.
I don't post very many pictures of my kids, but this one has to be shared.

I look at this picture often to be reminded of that what I am doing,
well . . . my kids are watching.
This makes me happy to know that they are learning about being healthy
which makes us happy.
"Having a Healthy body" is what she wrote. WOW! I hope she always remembers that. As I teach her that having a healthy body doesn't mean having a perfect body, but a body that makes you feel good, mentally, physically, emotionally. In all aspects.
I am thankful for this.
I am thankful for this new journey.
To show my kids how important it is to be Healthy & Happy,
amidst what others show us in this world.

Set an example to your kids of being active often, and eating those foods that fuel your body and give you the energy, and less of the guilt.

I will always remember this day I took this picture. It was our time as a MOM & daughter. And I had gone to the store to get a treat for our Friday night! Pretty funny! But I picked up this white board. My daughter came up to show me what she drew. She is my little artist. And I was so proud.

We want our kids to learn to be healthy. And we can teach them this by our example and what we do each day and by being better each day. They will know how to enjoy life and live it to the fullest.
Because being healthy makes us happy.

Life is what YOU make of it!

Who gets YOU -where you want to be?

YOU DO!

I wanted to share with you a little bit about me!

I am a Mother, Wife, Health & Fitness Coach with Beachbody,
A Blogger of All things Health,
I am a Child of God,
and I am part of an amazing Family.

But what I like to focus on the Most is

YOU!

And how it is important for YOU to take care of yourself

so YOU can take care of your family.

I believe that is why we were given LIFE,

is to come into a Family who loves and cares for us.

Then as we grow and learn in our family, we find out who we are

who THEY are.

Being a Busy Healthy Mom

I think a BIG factor in our health is what we fuel our body with. Nutrition is 80% of our results.

When I first started my thinking of how I wanted to provide healthy meal plans,
I approached my brother Garrett.

I have always liked searching for new recipes and figuring out how to make them healthier.
I would do my own meal plan, but wasn't consistent.

So I thought this was a great way for me to share my healthy meal plans and recipes and be accountable in doing so.

BEING A BUSY HEALTHY MOM
Being busy is just what automatically happens when you are a Mom.
But being healthy takes work, practice, dedication and consistency.
You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be consistent and get right back to doing those things that are going to make you healthy & happy. Don't wait for Monday to come around. Start right back at the next meal, or the next day. We are worth it! Our kids will see our efforts.

My brother said he would help me set up a website so I could give out the first healthy meal plan for FREE.

So I needed to decide a name for my new endeavor and my BLOG.

I wanted it to be focused toward MOM's, and especially Mothers that were busy, and wanted it to be healthy and very easy, simple recipes.

So I thought, and I thought, and then it came to me . . .

On-The-Go Healthy Moms
On-The Go Healthy Meal Plans

So thanks to Garrett- he put my website together for me

and I started creating my weekly healthy meal plans

Here you can get your first meal plan for free and decide if you want to continue to receive them and pay each month, only $3.95- more details here.

What a journey it has been to share with busy MOM's, women, and anyone interested in learning more on this blog as I share ideas on how to be healthier and happier.

Thanks to all of you for joining along and for sharing with others.

Thanks for checking in,

Melissa
